Pink Tea Expects Full House for Fundraising Event Today

Program Raises Funds & Awareness for Free Mammograms

Expect plenty of pink, smiles and tears, and a near capacity crowd of 500 for the 11th Annual Pink Tea, today from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Best Western University Inn, 1516 W. Pullman Road, Moscow.

The Pink Tea is the main fundraising event for Bosom Buddies, a Gritman Medical Center program, which covers the cost for screening mammograms for women who receive medical care in Latah county, and who otherwise could not afford the screening. More than $37,000 was raised at last year's event.

On the program is Patricia Kempthorne, former first lady of Idaho, breast cancer survivor Micki Panttaja and Kim Johnson who will deliver the fundraising appeal and talk about breast cancer in her family. Debi Dockins, Director of Volunteer Services at Gritman Medical Center, is the emcee.

The event features fabulous door prizes and raffle prizes, including a 14K white gold drop pendant donated by Johnson’s Jewelry, and a full-size, community-made "Quilt for the Cure" donated by Stitches and Petals.
