MOSCOW—Registration is now open for the first Colors of Hope run. The colorful, fun run/walk supports local cancer patients.
The Colors of Hope 5K is Sept. 15, 2012 and will begin at 9 a.m. at the old Tidyman's parking lot, 1638 S. Blaine (on the Troy Highway.) At various points along the trail participants will be showered with colorful, non-toxic, cornstarch-based powder.
"The goal is to use the colors to represent the variety of cancers that impact our lives and to support those in our community battling cancer," said Becky Chavez, co-founder of Light A Candle.
The Light A Candle program provides services to cancer patients undergoing treatment. Money raised is used for oncology massage, fuel, grocery vouchers, and other needs as requested.
Registration for the run is $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the event. Additionally, T-shirts may be purchased for $5 each. Children five and under participate for free.
