Hoops for Hope benefits local cancer patients

MOSCOW — Support local cancer patients by attending Hoops for Hope as the University of Idaho takes on Eastern Washington University in a double header basketball game at the Cowan Spectrum, Friday, Feb. 9.

Hoops for Hope benefits the Gritman Foundation Light a Candle program, providing funds for services to cancer patients in Latah and Whitman Counties. The women’s basketball game begins at 5 p.m. and the men’s is immediately following.

As a collaboration between the University of Idaho and the Gritman Foundation, cancer survivors get in free. Activities include a survivor half time walk, a shooting shirt auction, silent auction and more. Visit govandals.com for tickets.

The Gritman Foundation Light a Candle program helps cancer patients improve their quality of life and ease some of the pressure that comes with facing cancer. Available services include housekeeping, gas cards, grocery assistance, massage and others as requested. For more information about Light a Candle, click here or email lightacandle@gritman.org.
