Moscow, Idaho – Gritman Medical Center emergency nurses Jill Groseclose, RN, CPEN; Shannon Malloy, RN, CEN, CPEN; Shayne Whitson, RN, BSN, CPEN; and Brandi Fiorino, RN, CPEN, recently earned the credentials of Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN) after successfully completing the rigorous Certified Pediatric Nurse Exam developed and administered by the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN).
“Becoming Nationally Certified shows the importance of our nurses’ continued education,” said Sheryl Washburn, Gritman Chief Nursing Officer. “Not only are our nurses demonstrating the skills required to work in an emergency department, but they are also exceeding in their profession by attaining specialty certification.”
Specialty certification is a mark of distinction that highlights professional accomplishments and a commitment to the highest level of, and latest developments in, patient care. It is an objective, measurable way of acknowledging the achievement of specialty knowledge beyond basic nursing preparation and RN licensure.
The CPEN certification allows Gritman Emergency Department nurses to provide the best care for your children. You can feel safe and secure knowing that your children will be taken care of by advanced professionals who understand your child’s needs.
“At Gritman, we are proud of our nurses’ dedication to pursuing advanced educational opportunities. This allows us to best care of our patients from birth and throughout their lives,” said Sheryl.
