Moscow, ID – Gritman Wound Healing Center providers, leaders and clinicians recently gathered to celebrate the Center of Distinction Award, which was given by Healogics, Inc., the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services.
“We are so proud to be able to offer the only wound center on the Palouse. Our staff and providers have gone above and beyond to create a place for patients to fully heal, starting from the time they walk through our doors. Thank you to Healogics for this honor and to our wound care team for providing excellent care,” said Sheryl Washburn, Chief Nursing Officer at Gritman Medical Center.
The Center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including patient satisfaction higher than 92 percent, a wound healing rate of at least 91 percent within 30 median days to heal, and other quality outcomes. There were 506 centers eligible for the Center of Distinction award, only 172 achieved the honor.
“This was a true team effort. We could not have achieved this recognition without the support of primary care providers, surgeons, home health organizations, Gritman staff and everyone else involved in the care of our wonderful patients,” said Clinical Program Director Sharon Cofre. “It is a great feeling to help heal people in our community, and we are proud to provide the best care possible for our patients.”
The Gritman Wound Healing Center is a member of the Healogics Network of more than 635 Centers, and offers highly-specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time. Advanced treatments include hyperbaric oxygen therapy, negative pressure wound therapy, bio-engineered skin substitutes, biological and biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies.
