Gritman starts Type 1 Diabetes Support Group

MOSCOW — People living with Type 1 diabetes and care givers or family members of those living with Type 1 diabetes are invited to join the Gritman Type 1 Diabetes Support Group, 6:30-7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 13 in the Gritman Clinical Nutrition and Diabetes Care Classroom, located on the second floor at 803 S. Main St., Moscow.

Hosted by Gritman Clinical Nutrition and Diabetes Care, the group is designed to provide support for people of all ages living with Type 1 diabetes and their caregivers and family members.

“We are hoping for a diverse group with broad perspectives to encourage discussion,” said Mary Skoglund, RDN, LD, CDE. “For example, parents of children with Type 1 could connect with college students who are living on their own for the first time.”

The group is free and open to the public. Type 1 Diabetes Support Group meetings will be held 6:30-7:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every other month in the Gritman Clinical Nutrition and Diabetes Care Classroom.

For more information about this class or individualized diabetes counseling, call the Diabetes Education office at 208-883-6341.
